50 Years, 50,000 Daffodils
Inspired by Nantucket Garden Club member Jean MacAusland, the inaugural Daffodil Show was held in May 1975 with 250 entries. The show has continued to grow over the years and remains one of Nantucket’s beloved spring traditions, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the island’s daffodils.
To mark the Show’s 50th anniversary in 2025, the Club undertook an ambitious island-wide planting initiative, funding the planting of 50,000 additional daffodil bulbs at a cost of $100,000. The project was documented in a short film by Dan Driscoll of September Productions, who generously donated his time and talent to the Club.

Biennially, the Nantucket Garden Club joins forces with the Artist’s Association of Nantucket and island galleries to present the Art with Blooms Gallery Walk. This inspiring event showcases the creativity of Nantucket’s local artists—each artwork is paired with a one-of-a-kind floral interpretation designed by a member of the Nantucket Garden Club. Whether you’re a lover of art, flowers, or both, this Free and open to the public event offers a fresh, imaginative way to experience Nantucket’s vibrant cultural scene. Art With Blooms Gallery Walk will be held July 21st, 2027.

The 71th Annual House And Garden Tour will be held on August 4, 2027 from 11-4. The House and Garden Tour is the Nantucket Garden Club’s sole fundraiser, and its impact reaches far beyond a single summer day. Proceeds directly benefit organizations and programs on the island, such as
Civic Improvements; Grants for Beautification, Conservation, and Environmental Education; and scholarships for local students. Every ticket sold helps preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Nantucket for generations to come.
This annual event features a curated selection of historic and contemporary homes and gardens across rotating neighborhoods and will be held August 4th, 2027.
